Societies all over the world have their own myths and legends. And they’re more than just stories. Myths and legends tell us about a people’s history, science and cultural values – the things they knew, the things they believed, and the things they felt were important.

In the World Myths and Legends program you’ll hear myths and legends from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. You’ll learn about the people who created them, and how the stories fit in to each particular culture.

You’ll see how similar themes, characters and events show up in myths and legends from many parts of the world, and consider reasons why. And throughout you’ll find fun and interesting projects to help you experience the stories first-hand.
